Hyde Park Christian Reformed Church (HPCRC) is part of the Christian Reformed Church denomination (CRC). In addition to the local church council, the ecclesiastical structure of the denomination is comprised of the _classis_ (regional assembly), and the _synod_ (national assembly). The HPCRC belongs to the Classis Chicago South that is made up of twenty some CRC regional churches located in the area. The classis meets bi-annually, and by need. Pastors within the classis maintain regular contacts with each other. The CRC headquarter is located at Grand Rapids, Michigan. The synod, with a gathering of representatives from regional churches, meets once a year.

The HPCRC upholds the belief that Christ Jesus is the head of the church. The HPCRC governs the church under the supremacy of this principle and in accordance to the Church Order of the Christian Reformed Church. The Council is the governing body of the HPCRC church. It is comprised of elders, which includes the pastor, and deacons.
